I was a dental assistant for 7 years in the Galveston area. I loved my job and my work family, but I had to start thinking about what was best for the future of my at home family. My husband, Erik and I always said we’d try for a little one after our second wedding anniversary. Erik, working in Houston and I driving back and forth between dental offices in Galveston and League City, how were we going to be around enough for a child? Where would we put a child in Day Care? We had some decisions to make. Erik asked me, “If you could do anything that you wanted and still be the mom that you want to be, what would you do?” I responded immediately, “I'd open a boutique!”
With the constant love and support from family and friends, I thought, how could I fail? As scary as quitting everything that I knew and taking that giant leap of faith in myself to start my own business, I couldn’t say no. Ella Zane began to form. I decided to name the boutique after the sole reason for wanting to start it, our future children. Ella for a girl, Zane for a boy, so Ella Zane came to life.
We had our first child, a boy, Zane in June. Ella Zane's 1 year anniversary coincidently fell on Zane's 1 month of life. It couldn't have been any more special.
